The home of Thomas Rogers Kimball, located at 2450 St. Mary's Avenue in Omaha, Nebraska, can be seen in this black and white lantern slide. The three-story brick structure has a covered porch with columns at the front entrance and a turret on the side. A low fence surrounds the yard, which is covered in snow. There are trees with bare branches in the yard, and other houses are visible in the background.
Thomas Kimball was a Nebraska architect who was born in 1862 and died in 1934. He was one of the architects-in-chief of the Trans-Mississippi Exposition, held in Omaha in 1898. He designed several Omaha structures, including the Fontenelle Hotel, Burlington Station, and St. Cecilia's Cathedral, as well as many residential structures. He also designed his own home. Construction on the house began in 1905, and it was razed in 1940. Source: Spencer, Jeffrey S. Building for the Ages: Omaha's Architectural Landmarks. Omaha: Omaha Books, 2003, p. 32, 185.
